White Moon came to me on a day that I hadn’t really understood where my feelings were. I started her with her head out in front and she just kept pulling down toward her chest until the ‘feel’ of the piece worked as a whole. When I stepped back and out of the creative bubble that envelopes me, I realized, as I often do, that my inner world was quite different than I had previously thought. She was pulling herself inward, in not so much protection, but simply contemplation, as was I, around a personal issue that had arisen that day.
I called her White Moon because she feels to me like a Full Moon in a Summer Sky bathing me with the warm acceptance of my quiet, contemplative mood.
She is made from water based ceramic clay then kiln fired and painted with Golden Acrylic Paint. The base is an Exotic Hardwood from Brazil.
