April 2005 - Animal Radio contest winner
I discovered BEST FRIENDS animal sanctuary a few years ago and have been in love with it ever since. You must take a look at their website and the affiliate nationally syndicated radio station, AnimalRadio. This is an organization on 15 acres of donated land in Kahob, Utah, that has been lovingly and brilliantly transformed into a kind of Disneyland for abandoned animals, from cats and dogs to all kinds of wildlife.

I recently did a radio interview with Hal Abrams from AnimalRadio.com, (check him out, he’s great) During the interview we set up a contest for listeners to send in photos of their pets to compete for a pet portrait of mine. Of all the truly adorable photos that came in, Scamp won and is now immortalized for his owner, Kara Schonrank .

June 20, 2005 - 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
SPCA Fundraiser and Grand Opening of Pet Portrait Gallery at The Urban Pet in San Francisco. The Urban Pet and the SPCA are having a party! Come view the only pet portrait gallery in San Francisco, meet the pets and have a bit of wine and cheese. 20% of all merchandize and paintings sold that evening will go to the SPCA. There will also be a silent auction with cool stuff from many of the neighborhood establishments, including a 2 night stay at THE LAUREL INN, a pet friendly hotel on Presidio in Laural Heights, an autographed print of your choice of one of my pet portraits and so much more. Come see the portraits and support the pets at the S.F. SPCA.

November 18th - Opening of Rive’s newest paintings at 2223 Market Street.
through January 1st
I’ll be showing my most recent Pet Portrait Paintings. Ron Owden, Mayor of Palm Springs, Elizabeth Faulkner, the renowned Dessert Chef from Citizen Cake in San Francisco and Peter Poulos, the “King of Fundraisers” in San Francisco will all view their pet’s portrait for the first time on November 18th. Come take a look at the new paintings along with some the Wild Life series being shown for the first time in this upscale restaurant and gallery. Some of my sculptures can also be seen there as an ongoing show. The food is fabulous and the gallery truly shows the work beautifully.

January 29, 2005 - Interview with Hal Abrams from Animal Radio Network
I’m going to be doing an interview with Hal Abrams from AnimalRadio in the second hour of his program. If you don’t know about Animal Radio, you have got to check it out. It is the largest nationally syndicated Animal Radio program in the country. Hal is a fabulous, fun, energetic host whose sole concern is the welfare of all our furry friends. Animal Radio is affiliated with the animal organization and sanctuary, BestFriends.

So, check them out and tune in as Hal and I talk about artwork and our pets. Also, Hal will announce the start of a contest to win one of my pet portraits. Tune in, it should be fun.
